Talking about 'For Your Consideration' interview

'For Your Consideration' interview

Eugene Levy, Catherine O’Hara, Jennifer Coolidge and others free-associate with MSN’s Dish Diva for lots of laughs. The comedy, directed by Christopher Guest and written by Guest and Levy, opens on Nov. 17, 2006.

What Goes Up, Must Come Down...
It's amazing how elated one can be -- only to have the air let out of your tire and become flat again so quickly.  The human spirit is so strange.  One can find love and treasure it -- yet one can also be hurt by that same love just the same.  It's amazing what passion and pain can come along with just one event.

This past year has been a difficult and challenging one for me.  I have been tested in so many ways and have really had to ask myself what is important.  I've always known what is important, but I have yet to find it on this very large and weird planet.

I'm lonely tonight.  I hope whoever reads this has comfort in their arms and in their souls.  I will find mine again someday.

Until then,

Me

Cleaning at 3:01 am
I'm cleaning my apartment at 3:01 am.  I am my mother.

I just finished watching the second season of 24.  It's such a good show!  I'm very impressed.  And Kiefer Sutherland is actually a very entertaining actor to watch!  Who knew!?

There is so much to organize in my apartment right now.  It seems like it never ends.  I'm busy going through mail and papers and throwing out what I can as well.  Yippee.

Anyway, just wanted to quickly pop in and say hello.  I hope all is well with you, too.

Cleanly yours,

Me

Flippity Doo Dah Day
I'm sorry!  I know it has been forever since I've made an entry.  But, life does get in the way somtimes, you know?  :o)~

Anyway, I just finished my graduate courses for the semester and still have a 4.0!  Very exciting.  I will have my Master's degree at the end of December, and that is even more exciting!

I went to Second City with my friend Heather yesterday and it was fun as always.  They asked for suggestions for a hick song to sing for one of their skits and I shouted out, "Shave Your Back Hair!"  LOL.  The whole skit was about that.  I don't know whether I should be proud or ashamed.  I think ashamed.  But mischievously ashamed.

After Second City Heather and I went to Bahama Breeze and had dinner.  I got the seafood paella.  Um -- YUM!  It had shrimp, jumbo scallops, steamed mussels, some sort of fish, and other lovely treats.  I heart seafood.  I heart Bahama Breeze.  PS: They're Rum Runner drink is too rummy, though.

I'm about to finish the last episode of 24 - Season One on DVD.  Since I haven't had cable since 2001 (I know -- lame), I'm still enjoying the boxed sets of some really cool shows.  I gave in and went ahead and bought season two of 24 at Best Buy today -- such a rip, but I had a $25 gift card, so it made the pain a little more tolerable.

Anyway, things are going well, just working tons and heaps.  I'm working on making some t-shirts (a few are located at http://www.gayitees.com -- but I also have more on the political side that I'm working on as well).

Be good, be well, and be sane,

Me

Attraction
Sometimes I enjoy writing a poem to express a feeling that's too hard to explain in just a regular blog entry.  This is what came to mind tonight during five minutes of introspection.

Goodnight my friends.  Thanks for stopping by.

My heart goes out to you,

Me

ATTRACTION

Attraction brings us together,
but for what time will it endure?
Will it last us for a lifetime,
or simply end when its time is through?

We hope deep inside that many
lives will be touched by our gentle hearts.
But all too often pain is caused with
best intentions from the very start.

We care, we love, we cherish
the one we hold and love so dear.
We try our very best to love one
through the joy, the calm, the tears.

We are attracted by many things,
like the surface and the deep within.
But it is the love that burns inside us
that keeps the candle from growing dim.

So if you find one love in your lifetime
where attraction has a special place,
take the time to build, and grow, and sustain
and your love will have a sweeter taste.

Attraction can bring two together,
and it can ironically drive two apart.
But let the little things keep you growing, glowing.
Let the small things stay in your heart.

Common Sense by Thomas Paine - Rewritten for the Gay Man by BlueEyedLevity
Dear Thomas Paine:

I've decided to rewrite the introduction to your good piece of literature to reflect my own views on common sense (or lack thereof) with some of today's gay men.  Your original text will be in purple.  Mine will be in blue, of course.

Thank you for your time.  I know you're dead, but hey, your spirit is out there somewhere right?

Love,

Me

PERHAPS the sentiments contained in the following pages, are not yet sufficiently fashionable to procure them general favor among gay men; a long habit of not thinking that they are sometimes shallow, give them a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defence of that custom.  But tumult soon subsides.  Time makes more converts from stupidity than reason.

As a long and violent abuse of power is generally the means of calling the right of it in question, (and in matters too which might never have been thought of, had not the sufferers been aggravated into the inquiry,) and as the king of England hath undertaken in his own right, to support the parliament in what he calls theirs, and as the good people of this country are grievously oppressed by the combination, they have an undoubted privilege to inquire into the pretensions of both, and equally to reject the usurpations of either.

As a long and violent abuse of brain power is generally the means of not using common sense in the gay community, (and in matters too which might never been though of, such as safe sex and not doing hookups 24/7), and as the queen of Gayland hath undertaken in his own right, to support all around in what he calls his domain, and as the good people of Gayland are grievously oppressed by general stupidity, they have an undoubted privilege to change their pretensions and equally to reject the stereotype and stigma that is out there.

In the following sheets, the author hath studiously avoided every thing which is personal among ourselves. Compliments as well as censure to individuals make no part thereof. The wise and the worthy need not the triumph of a pamphlet; and those whose sentiments are injudicious or unfriendly, will cease of themselves, unless too much pains is bestowed upon their conversion.

The cause of America is, in a great measure, the cause of all mankind. Many circumstances have, and will arise, which are not local, but universal, and through which the principles of all lovers of mankind are affected, and in the event of which, their affections are interested. The laying a country desolate with fire and sword, declaring war against the natural rights of all mankind, and extirpating the defenders thereof from the face of the earth, is the concern of every man to whom nature hath given the power of feeling; of which class, regardless of party censure, is

The cause of being gay is, in a great measure, the cause of all mankind.  Many circumstances have, and will arise, which are not local, but universal, and through which the principles of all lovers of mankind are affected, and in the event of which, their affections are interested.  The laying of men without love makes one desolate with fire and sword, declaring war against the natural rights of all mankind, and extirpating the pursuit of love in one man, and one man alone, brings sadness to the face of the earth and should be the concern of every man to whom nature hath given the power of feeling; of which class, regardless of race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, disability, sexual orientation including gender identity, unfavorable discharge from the military or status as a protected veteran, is
