Nov 28 thru Nov 30 - Rockland - Festival of Lights Celebration Celebrate the holidays in the Real Maine at the Festival of Lights Celebration. Santa arrives by Coast Guard boat at Public Landing in Rockland. Nov 28 thru Dec 24 - Bethel - County Christmas in Bethel Activities during County Christmas in Bethel include the Taste of Bethel (Dec. 6), a Theme Wreath Silent Auction (Dec. 6), a Christmas tree lighting and the arrival of Santa at 5 p.m. (Dec. 6), plus free horse-drawn wagon rides from 2 to 4 p.m. on most Saturdays, along with shopping specials and open houses. Nov 29 - Greenville - Deck the Halls The annual Deck the Halls event is the official kickoff to the Holiday Season in Moosehead Lake. It takes place the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Great fun for the entire family, including a public pancake breakfast, educational games for kids, a craft fair, area shopping specials, Deck the Halls parade, town tree lighting and family Sock Hop dance. Do some shopping during extended hours at downtown merchants, dine at a downtown eatery, and come to Rotary Park for the annual lighting of the Becker Memorial Tree at 5 p.m. This year, Kennebunk Light and Power will adorn the tree with low-carbon footprint LED lights.
