ICE Proposes New Policy That Would Let Illegal Immigrants Go Free Illegal immigrants who get pulled over by police for traffic-related offenses will be set free if a proposed change in Immigration and Customs Enforcement policy is approved.
The proposal has come under fire by county sheriffs near the Arizona-Mexico border — including some who spoke out against SB 1070, the controversial Arizona law that directs law enforcement officials to question people they suspect are in the country illegally. A federal judge has effectively put that law on hold, pending resolution in federal court of the Department of Justice's claim that it is unconstitutional.

County welfare to children of illegal immigrants grows Welfare payments to children of illegal immigrants in Los Angeles County increased in July to $52 million, prompting renewed calls from one county supervisor to rein in public benefits to such families.
The payments, made to illegal aliens for their U.S. citizen children, included $30 million in food stamps and $22 million from the CalWORKS welfare program, according to Los Angeles County figures released Friday by Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich.

First and foremost, we want to thank all of the ALIPAC activists who
worked hard last night and stayed up late monitoring radio broadcasts,
news reports, eye witness reports, and police radio communications to
stay on top of the illegal alien riots in Los Angeles that took place
for a third night in a row last night.
Luckily, the very heavy police presence in riot gear and the city wide
tactical alert helped to stop things from getting too wild although
there were new arrests, reports of rocks and eggs being thrown, and a
report of fires being set in dumpsters near an apartment building filled
with tenants.
We want to thank our activists for keeping watch because this kind of
unrest among assimilated illegal immigrants has spread rapidly in other
nations like France and Greece causing massive loss of property and
lives. ALIPAC has documented many anti-American proclamations and
threats of mass violence against Americans initiated by illegal aliens
and their supporters, so we stand ready to be your first alert if these
riots should spread.
LA: Police and Protesters Clash as Chief Defends Shooting As Los Angeles Police Chief Charlie Beck
defended the fatal shooting of a day laborer and officials called for
calm, protesters and officers clashed Tuesday night in Westlake near
the site of the incident.
About 300 demonstrators gathered at the LAPD's Rampart Station.
Some in the crowd hurled eggs at police cars and others threw objects
at the station windows, prompting officers in riot gear to push the
throng along 6th Street.
Officers fired non-lethal projectiles at protesters near Union
Avenue and 6th, where Manuel Jamines was fatally shot Sunday afternoon
by an officer who said Jamines refused commands to drop a switchblade.

Arizona Immigration Law Spreads Soon after Arizona passed its immigration law, critics argued that the action would isolate the Grand Canyon state. Boycotts would follow. Businesses would flee.
But the backlash never arrived. Instead, other states are pushing to adopt Arizona's immigration restrictions.
"I've never seen legislation move between the states that quickly," said Will Gheen, head of Americans for Legal Immigration. "We think the law spreading to other states will help to protect Arizona."

We are still piecing together what is going on in Los Angeles. Early
reports indicate that illegal immigrants and their supporters are
engaging in some kind of night marches where they are taking control of
the streets.
This civil unrest has gone on for several nights since police killed a
Hispanic man at a day labor site who the police claim was brandishing a
knife.
Here are the news reports and videos that are coming in currently.
ALIPAC is releasing these videos and articles to our national news list
as well as our supporters. These videos are NOT on our YouTube account.
We will keep watch and advise everyone if the situation escalates or
starts to spread to other towns and cities.
Arizona law, heat don't stop border crossings Hector Ortega stumbled across the body of a
fellow migrant as he walked across Arizona's harsh desert in the
searing summer heat. He tried not to look too closely.
With nothing to be done for the deceased, Ortega and the others
trudged on, guided by a smuggler across the U.S. border, determined to
complete their illegal odyssey even as they endured record-high
temperatures and fever-pitch resentment.
"What can you do about it in the desert?" he asked.
Deaths of illegal immigrants in Arizona soared
this summer toward their highest levels since 2005 – a fact that has
surprised many who thought the furor over the state's new immigration
law and the 100-plus degree heat would send them elsewhere along the
2,000-mile U.S.-Mexico border.
